Background:
Lenovo has launched a new program to help Saudi graduates learn advanced skills in smart manufacturing. The initiative is being carried out in partnership with the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF), the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, and Alat. The program represents a major step toward supporting Saudi Arabia’s drive to build a competitive industrial sector under Vision 2030.
The initiative will offer 100 Saudi graduates the chance to train at Lenovo’s manufacturing facility in Riyadh, as well as selected global sites. Participants will spend four months training in different areas such as production, quality control, and digital operations, gaining practical experience in Lenovo’s global supply chain. The curriculum combines classroom training with practical assignments designed to meet international industry standards.
Lawrence Yu, Head of Lenovo’s MEA Regional Headquarters, said the program aligns with the Kingdom’s ambitions for industrial transformation. “Saudi Arabia’s vision is bold, and we are proud to contribute by investing in the development of its young talent. This program provides world-class training, sparks local innovation, and opens meaningful career pathways for future industry leaders,” he said.
The program is fully funded by HRDF, while the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources will oversee its strategic direction. Lenovo will manage the training delivery and operational support, with Alat contributing technical expertise and program development.
This program is part of Lenovo’s ongoing investment in Saudi Arabia. The company is building a new manufacturing site in Riyadh, opening its MEA regional headquarters, and expanding its research and development work. By training Saudi talent, Lenovo hopes to help the country grow its industrial sector and achieve its long-term economic goals.
Lenovo, a global technology company that earns US$69 billion and operates in 180 markets, is also expanding its products and services. The company says its growing presence in Saudi Arabia reflects its commitment to supporting the region’s development and future growth.
