Background:

Saudia carried 27 million passengers in 2025 through a partnership with the Saudi Tourism Authority. The collaboration brought travelers from 24 countries to the Kingdom, boosting the tourism sector.

Khaled Tash, Saudia’s Group Chief Marketing Officer, praised the partnership and said it will help the Kingdom reach its Vision 2030 goal of 150 million tourists by 2030. He noted that the airline had already contributed to reaching an earlier milestone set in 2023.

The announcement coincided with the launch of a Saudia aircraft featuring the “Spirit of Saudi” logo at the Saudia Technic Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) village in Jeddah. The aircraft, a Boeing B787-9, is intended to serve as a mobile promotional platform, highlighting Saudi hospitality to international travelers even before they reach the Kingdom.

During 2026, the specially branded aircraft will operate on 25 international routes, including long-haul destinations such as Jeddah–Washington, East Asia, and China. Abdullah Al-Dakhil, spokesperson for the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA), said that air connectivity is an important part of the Kingdom’s tourism plan. He explained that the aircraft will give travelers a taste of authentic Saudi hospitality even before they arrive.

As part of Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia aims to grow its economy, expand air travel, and serve 330 million passengers to 250+ destinations by 2030, carrying 4.5 million tonnes of cargo.
