Background :

Skyscanner has launched a dedicated app within ChatGPT for travellers in the Middle East, allowing users to search for flights and view real-time prices through a conversational interface.

The new tool enables users to plan trips by entering natural-language prompts in ChatGPT and receiving live flight results with visual options directly in the chat. Travellers can refine searches by changing dates, airports and other trip details through follow-up prompts without restarting the search.

Users can install the Skyscanner app from the ChatGPT App Store. The integration uses Skyscanner’s existing flight search engine and live pricing data, which supports around 160 million travellers each month globally.

Company executives said the launch is part of Skyscanner’s broader strategy to reduce friction in travel planning and make flight discovery more intuitive through artificial intelligence. The company aims to improve traveller confidence by combining real-time pricing with natural-language search capabilities.

Beyond the ChatGPT integration, Skyscanner is expanding AI across its wider platform. The company is already using AI-powered chatbots for hotel and car hire searches and has also launched a Football Flight Finder to help fans plan multi-city travel for the upcoming World Cup. The feature tracks fare changes and identifies competitive routes as match schedules are released.

Skyscanner said it will continue developing AI-driven travel tools as it shifts toward more dynamic and answer-led search experiences, with a focus on maintaining trust and accuracy in natural-language travel planning.
